The first album from pianist/composer Shea features French hornist Mark Taylor, known for his work with Henry Threadgill and Muhal Richard Abrams, in a lyrical, swinging, setting. Shea's tunes are warmly emotional; his group plays with power and passion. If you like Joanne Brackeen, Mulgrew Miller, or Keith Jarrett, you'll enjoy this.
