The Oversize Quartet was the project of Berklee student Rich Latham.  He leads two different ensembles through a collection of Monk-influenced material.

This album is most notable as an early documentation of alto saxophonist Rudresh Mahanthappa, who has gone on to a significant career as a leader and sideman.

Latham passed away at early age in the mid-1990's.
